Robin Finlay wanted to make some food photos. I wanted to make some graphic photos. We both wanted to make a mess and see if we could get mustard on the ceiling. The studio smelled like maple syrup for days.
These images are based on a photo of gelato and a cone that we made for our ‘Iced Treats’ projects. We built on that pairing and decided to include it in this small portfolio. The project is posted at www.voorhes.com/load-foodpair.html
It’s Nice That interviewed me for an article. That made me happy. Here is is;
A couple friends at a magazine were up a familiar creek. No paddle. An image had fallen through and they had a blank page to fill. So they got this Rolex over to me, but for whatever reason I only had two hours with it. I hurried and made these images with some objects from the studio storage room. I like them.
Okay, maybe not ever. But TIME did list this magazine cover I worked on with TJ Tucker as the third best magazine cover of 2009. Wow, thanks!
These are great dishes, all worth a try. But be careful with Chef Garces’ corn bread. He has a heavy hand with the peppers. If these images are hard to read you can see the article here,
